School Program Hosts African American Read-In In honor of Black History Month, the School Age Enrichment Program will host and participate in the 2nd Annual African American Read-In by joining over a million readers for this national event. The Read-In is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Black Caucus and is endorsed by the International Reader's Association. The goal is to make the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month. As we participate in this important event, we cordially invite all of our LBCC family (children, parents, staff, friends, and legislators) to be present and/or be a "sharer". There will also be a special presentation by Verizon which will aid in our quest to improve and support literacy at LBCC. WHEN: Wednesday, February 16th, 2011, 6-8pm WHERE: Theodore D.
